Photography Vision

My goal is to capture  moments  that last a lifetime!

About Lyndie

How photography became a passion.

In the Fall of 2016, a former student asked me to create her senior portraits. Since then, other former students have asked me to create senior portraits of them.  My last name means, "Eagle" in Italian, and I have grown to love taking photos of wildlife, including bald eagles, egrets, hawks, swans and other wildlife I encounter. Sometimes I go on drives and pull over to take pictures of flowers or any interesting subject.

I love to create photos.. I became interested in photography in 2004 when I became the yearbook adviser of a local middle school. I have produced 17 yearbooks so far.  I wanted our yearbook to be the best middle school yearbook in the area. I started taking classes and would practice taking photos of my friends, their children, and my nephew  in my spare time. I purchased my own camera in 2010 and have continued to take classes to improve my craft.  Since it is now my passion, I love sharing what I know with others through photos.

Montana Bay, my rescue Mustang

I love rescue animals. He was barely halter broke when I rescued him. I taught him all the ground skills and sent him to a professional trainer to learn to carry a rider. I have been riding since I was three. He is the 5th horse I have owned, but this has been by far the most rewarding experience I have ever had!

Bald eagles- I am proud to be an American!

Bald eagles are majestic and gorgeous! I discovered a pair of eagles on the American River bike trail in 2017 and have been photographing them since then. During COVID, I discovered I enjoyed photographing other species of wildlife as well.

About Lyndie

I am an 8th grade United States history teacher.

I have been teaching middle school  since the Fall of 2001. It is a very rewarding job that is never boring. History is an exciting subject. My grand mother loved history and as a child my parents would take us on vacations to learn about our nation's history.

Thankfully many of my former students have become friends, and those friendships continue to grow.

Volunteerism

I was in Girl Scouts for 15 years and had my own Brownie troop as a high school student. . I am a Chico State graduate and a proud alumni of a local sorority, Alpha Chi,  that was founded in 1918 by knitting socks for service men during WWI.  I was on my sorority's alumni board from 2001 until 2019. I served several terms on the HOA board when I owned a townhouse.  I am passionate about giving back to the community.

Kirkland

I love animals. I share this cat, Kirkland, with my parents. He travels between our homes.  We rescued him in November of 2018. We named him Kirkland, after the Costco brand. Yes, we love Costco. He is skittish since he was rescued at two months old  and was feral but he likes to play and watch and talk to birds. He knows the phrase, "Kirkland, where are the birds?"

49er Faithful

I have been a fan since I was a little girl. The 49ers won the first Superbowl right before my 4th birthday.  My godfather was a groundskeeper at Sierra College so we would go watch their practices. I have a dedicated wall in my classroom filled with paraphernalia and my horse is named Montana after Joe Montana.

A student gave me this football and I waited in line for hours for Joe to autograph it!! It was worth the 5 hour wait.
